Giang Biscan, PhD.  (giangbiscan.com) is the Founder of TheStartupAngel.com (previously AsAble.com) and the Advisor of Mixergy.com. In 1997, Giang founded an internet startup, which she sold her shares later in 1998. She then went on to real estate investment from which she still owns a portfolio of residential properties in Australia, Asia and USA. From 1997 to 2005, Giang has a technology transfer service for telecommunication & pneumatic equipment from Australia and Europe to Vietnam.
She has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Newcastle in Australia, and an MBA from UCLA. In her PhD, she invented the Reflux Classifier technology that was awarded “2000 Science & Technology Innovation Medal” from the Australian Minister of Industries and Resources and ”Technology Award” by United Airlines. The technology she developed is currently saving Australia $100M+ per year in mineral resources. The technology is currently being used in Africa, Asia and USA.

 

Justin is the Producer of TheStartupAngel.com and the Chief Operating Officer of Highly Relevant, an Internet marketing company that specializes in converting web traffic into revenue. Justin has also been involved in various Internet start-ups, ranging from an eCommerce website to audioblogging technology. Prior to embarking on his entrepreneurial ventures, Justin was a consultant with IBM in its Business Consulting Services division. Justin has a BS from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

 

 
Phil is the Event Coordinator at TheStartupAngel.com. He has worked with early-stage Internet startups and was previously a buyer at Visa Inc. Phil has a BS from UC Davis and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Peter Clarke is the Digital Media Specialist at TheStartupAngel.com.  He is Founder of the podcast series “Go-Getters” and the familiar face behind many video streaming sessions at Vokle.  He is current going through the Academy of Art University where he is pursuing his interest in web design & new media.

 

 

 

Michael Wills is the Asia Pacific Rep for TheStartupAngel.com. Michael is an entrepreneur at heart and is currently studying a Masters in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Swinburne University of Technology in his home town of Melbourne, Australia. He has spent a lot of time at University, completing undergraduate degrees (separately) in both Multimedia and also in Behavioural Science. Michael has over 10 years’ experience in designing and developing websites, loves cooking, astronomy, helping others, cricket and drinking beer.

Oszie Tarula is the Event Photographer for TheStartupAngel.com.  He has over 10 years experience in conceptualizing,  developing, and marketing websites & interactive media (including: media kits, DVDs, videos, motion graphics, flash, print & social media).  Oszie has worked & consulted for various companies including: edmunds.com, KB Home, Coldwell Banker, & idealab (paymybills.com & The .tv Corporation).

He was a partner & lead the production & direction for a bridal magazine, which he later sold his shares in. He has also produced inde-music events in Mexico and Los Angeles, & built an online indue music & artist network.  Currently he manages the e-marketing for Caruso Affiliated – a shopping center developer in Los Angeles. He manages multiple property websites,  event photography, online marketing, development, online presence & social media.

Oszie is passionate about the internet, start-ups, entrepreneurship, photography, technology, real estate & his close friends & family.

 

Simona Clapan is the SoCal Community Manager for TheStartupAngel.com. She is also the CTO of kangogift.com and is active among the LA startup community.
